Murmur Cast Overview
MURMUR CAST captures a live multitrack performance, spatializes it into a bed-plus-moving-objects mix, and delivers a rendered version to remote listeners — never the raw discrete tracks — matched to whatever system they’re on: binaural over headphones, or a full speaker-bed render over a home theater rig.
Murmur Cast started as a subdirectory inside murmur-app and became its
own repository once it outgrew that — it still reuses murmur-app’s
binaural panner and DSP primitives via a pinned dependency. See
murmur-cast on GitHub for
the full architecture.
The DAW-side tap
Section titled “The DAW-side tap”A small plugin still lives in murmur-app (cast_plugin/) — a two-
parameter tap that sits inline in your DAW session and writes a copy of
the mix to a shared buffer for the separate Cast process to pick up,
without touching the audio you’re mixing. See
Murmur Cast parameters for both real
parameters (Stream Gain, Casting).
