Correction: an earlier revision of this page said Pulse had no dedicated code. That was wrong — it lives at murmur-app/drum_plugin/, the same “one repo, many plugin directories” pattern as Undertow, Murmur Cast, Fathom, and Splay.

CURRENT STATE VS. THE VISION

What’s actually implemented today (PulseProcessor.h’s own header comment, “Phase 1”) is real sample-based drum playback: 16 fixed one-shot pads (MIDI notes 36–51, the standard GM drum-rack convention), WAV/AIFF sample loading via PulseSampleLibrary. There’s no UI for assigning samples to pads yet (loadPadSample() is the only way, planned for a UI in “Phase 5”). The physical-modeling, per-pad synthesis-engine, and AI-prompt-to-kit description in Murmur’s public marketing content (murmur-web/src/lib/products.ts) describes the product vision, not what ships today — flagged unverified until Pulse’s DSP roadmap confirms which of that is built.

PULSE plays 16 sample-based drum pads over MIDI. The AI-prompt-driven kit generation and per-pad synthesis engines described in Murmur’s marketing are on the roadmap, not in the current build.
