Murmur Overview

MURMUR is an AI-native, dual-layer algorithmic software synthesizer built around parallel synthesis engines: text (or MIDI) goes in, DSP parameters come out, and you hear the result immediately.

You describe a sound in plain language — “shimmering crystalline bell texture with deep analog warm undertones that sweeps into a low pass wash” — and Murmur’s cognitive mapper distributes that description across its engine layer as concrete synthesis parameters. See Understanding Patch Generation for how that pipeline actually works, and Murmur Signal Architecture for the DSP path sound takes after a patch is generated.

Murmur’s engine layer runs eight operator engines in parallel: Classic, Wavetable, FM/PM, Additive, PhaseShape, Granular, NoiseChaos, and Resonator. See Murmur Signal Architecture for the full signal path from engine layer to output.
